It seems my cat stares at "nothing". What should I do?

Here's why cats might stare at "nothing":

😼 Super Senses: Cats have excellent hearing and vision, especially in low light. What seems like "nothing" to us could be a tiny bug, a shadow, or a sound we can't detect.

🧠 Deep Thinking: Cats sometimes zone out, like they're daydreaming or in a light rest mode while staying alert.

👻 And.... This Option: People love to joke that cats see ghosts. There's no science behind it, but hey—it is spooky when they do it at 2 a.m.!

When to Worry

If staring is paired with:

  • Head tilting or circling

  • Sudden changes in behavior or balance

  • Pupil changes or vision issues

  • Seizure-like activity

👉 Then it's best to call your vet—it could signal a neurological or vision problem.

Otherwise, your cat is just being a mysterious little fellow. 😺 Totally normal!
